The Aerie Bed & Breakfast

New Bern

Duck In was the room of Mary Ward whose family purchased the residence from Samuel Street in 1900. Mary Ward  lived in the home her entire life, she divided the house into several apartments, renting them out during World War II.

The Duck In Room is located on the first floor of the main house and is convenient to the parlor and dining room where you can meet new friends and family on your weekend getaway. In fact, the current door to the room was once a closet and now guests over six feet tall may need to ‘duck’ their heads to enter a room with an eleven-foot ceiling! Tasteful appointments and refined decorative treatments make this quaint, warm-hued room one of our most popular. A smaller room, but delightful in every way.
