Interim Innkeeping and Bed & Breakfast Consulting

Bio

Elizabeth “Beth” brings more than 30 years of leadership, operations, staffing, and management experience to bed and breakfast innkeeping and hospitality consulting. Originally from Charlotte, North Carolina, Beth attended Queens College and earned a B.S. in Nursing from Oklahoma Wesleyan University before building a successful career in hospital leadership, primarily in critical care and cardiology. Her responsibilities included opening and staffing new units, developing operational procedures, establishing quality standards, managing budgets and vendors, and supervising employees. Today, Beth applies that extensive management experience as an inn owner and professional innkeeper, providing bed and breakfast owners with dependable temporary innkeeping, interim inn management, relief innkeeper services, and operational support.

Experienced Bed & Breakfast Owner and Innkeeper

Since 2019, Beth and her husband, John, have owned and operated The Aerie Bed & Breakfast in New Bern, North Carolina, a historic nine-room inn listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Beth manages the inn’s daily operations and staff of five, overseeing guest services, reservations, housekeeping, staffing, vendors, budgeting, quality standards, and regulatory compliance. Drawing on her healthcare management background, she has implemented proven operational and quality-control practices that have helped The Aerie achieve a 100% health department inspection rating while maintaining exceptional guest service. Beth also led the inn through its qualification as a Select Registry property, participation in Stash Hotel Rewards, and recognition as a Fodor’s Choice property.

Innkeeping Technology & Business Experience

Beth has hands-on experience with the systems and business tools commonly used by independent inns and bed and breakfasts, including ThinkReservations, ResNexus, Expedia, Booking, AirBnB, QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Payroll, and Microsoft Office. Combining hospitality experience, operational discipline, staff leadership, and hands-on inn ownership, Beth can confidently step into an existing operation and provide temporary innkeeper coverage, interim inn management, relief innkeeping, or B&B operational support. She understands both the business demands of running a successful inn and the personal hospitality required to deliver an exceptional guest experience.
