Originally born in Lompoc, California, into a family of artists and musicians, Beth’s journey has been defined by a passion for creativity and a commitment to service. After moving to Charlotte, North Carolina, at a young age, she cultivated a career built on precision, leadership, and a deep appreciation for the arts.
Beth is an alumna of the Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing (now part of Queens University of Charlotte). With over 30 years of experience in nurse management, she specialized in Critical Care and Cardiology. Her professional background is rooted in high-stakes operational leadership, including:
Program Development: Building and launching new healthcare initiatives from the ground up.
Operational Excellence: Defining complex procedures and executing quality metrics.
Fiscal Oversight: Managing multi-million dollar budgets within major hospital systems.
Beyond her clinical expertise, Beth’s life is anchored by her involvement in the community and her love for aesthetics. Her background in decorating and the arts now finds a home in the historical charm of New Bern. Her lifelong community contributions include:

John
A native of Charlotte, NC, John carries a profound connection to the region’s heritage, with family roots in the Charlotte area stretching back to the early 1800s. Raised by parents deeply embedded in genealogical societies and local history, John’s passion for preservation is both a personal calling and a family legacy.
John holds a robust educational foundation in business strategy and operations, which fuels his leadership at The Aerie:

Master of Business Administration (MBA): Georgia State University, Atlanta.
With over 25 years of experience in the construction products industry, John has held senior management, sales, and marketing roles. He specializes in:
Market Development: Identifying and launching new services in competitive landscapes.
Strategic Growth: Driving sales and product innovation for large-scale operations.
Project Management: Leveraging his deep knowledge of construction materials—a vital skill for maintaining historic properties.
A veteran of the North Carolina Army National Guard and Army Reserves, John served for over a decade, attaining the rank of Captain. His military background instills a level of discipline and organizational excellence that defines the guest experience at his properties.
